South Delta Lightning Pee Wee "A" fastpitch team was able to break away from its own tournament last weekend to lend a hand. The girls played Friday night and then three games on Saturday so they could assist with raffle tickets and 50/50 sales for the 10th Annual Shoot for the Cure ALS fund raiser early Sunday morning. South Delta resident Todd Johnstone (pictured with the team), who has been the driving force behind the event since its inception, gave the Lightning players a big hug for taking the time to help out. Shoot for the Cure has raised over $110,000 for ALS. The Lightning made it back to the park in time to win a silver medal.
