South Delta Moose have won gold in the midget division of the SDMHA Party in Da House Tournament.

The competition amongst all the teams was very stiff as the games featured an exciting brand of playoff style hockey.

The Moose started off with a 2-1 victory over a very tough, tier one BGB team. A stellar performance by goaltender Garrett Holmes earned him the game MVP award.

Game two saw the Moose meet another tier one team - The Bears. The Moose dropped a 2-1 decision but the loss served them well, as they subsequently ended up playing The Bears again for gold.

First they were in a must-win scenario in their final round-robin game and they came through with a 4-2 triumph over a very solid Cariboo team, the eventual bronze medal winners.

The Bears came out strong in the final but it was the Moose that took a 2-0 lead behind the strong goaltending of Holmes.

The team recalled their previous tilt against the Bears and knew it would take its best effort to win.

Despite some goal mouth scrambles in the dying moments, the Moose hung on for a 3-2 win.

Throughout the tournament, the players followed game plans of coaches Frank Krznaric, John Brewer and Keith Prefontaine. They are very proud of the entire team for their hard work and awesome achievement.

The team also includes: Colton Redman, Tanner Taylor (captain), Jesse Keith, Michael Schwabe, Brett Sandhu, Stuart Graf, Michael Krznaric, Riley Taylor, Riley Philips, Graydon Policnick, Kieran Tan, John Brewer Jr., Max Youngson and Doug Bailey.

Honorable mention goes to team manager Terry Prefontaine, who also did a tremendous job running the tournament.
