Tsawwassen's Mark Pearson and the rest of the senior men's national field hockey team are in Argentina for the 2012 Men's Champions Challenge 1 which gets underway tomorrow.

The eight team competition, which runs until Dec. 2, will see Canada open play Saturday against Korea. The Canadians' pool also includes Malaysia and Poland. The winner of the tournament will automatically qualify for the next edition of the men's Champions Trophy.

At just 25, Pearson already has 122 international caps to his credit. The standout forward helped Canada qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2010 FIH World Cup.

Meanwhile, defender Sara McManus continued to show her scoring touch in helping the national women's team roll to an unbeaten record in 2012 FIH World League Round One play in Trinidad and Tobago.

The 19-year-old scored her first ever goals with the senior team. She found the net against Guyana and added a pair against Barbados.
