Ladner Pioneers' slumbering offence woke up Tuesday night to even their best-of-seven West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association championship series against the Tri-City Bandits.

Ladner Pioneers' slumbering offence woke up Tuesday night to even their best-of-seven West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association championship series against the Tri-City Bandits.

After managing just 10 goals in their last two games combined, including just three in a series opening loss to the Bandits, Ladner exploded for six goals in the second period, then added five more in the third for a convincing road victory.

The series continues Thursday when the teams return to the Ladner Leisure Centre at 8 p.m.

The Pioneers erased a 2-0 first period deficit with two goals in 55 seconds to open the second period. The visitors then took full control with four unanswered goals, including three in just 49 seconds.

Quinn Waddington paced the attack with a third period natural hat trick. Cam Taylor, Bill Mischke, Taylor Hetherington, Dave Yee, Adam Haydon, Kevin Redhead and Greg Rennie had the other goals.

Travis St. Germain added four assists, while Kevin Hill was solid in net with 45 saves.
