South Delta Rams will launch the 2011 minor football season this weekend with their annual Lions Bowl Jamboree at Dennison Park.
The two-day event features teams from across the Lower Mainland playing 20-minute mini-games in four divisions Atom, Pee Wee, Junior Bantam and Bantam.
Atom and Pee Wee teams will be in action on Saturday.
The Atom Rams will face Meadow Ridge (8:30 a.m.), North Delta (9:30 a.m.) and North Surrey (11:10 a.m.). The Pee Wee teams hit the field in the afternoon with the hosts battling Westside (11:45 a.m.), Meadow Ridge (1:35 p.m.) and North Surrey (3:25 p.m.).
The jamboree concludes on Sunday with a full schedule of Junior Bantam games in the morning. The Rams are slated to play Meadow Ridge (9:30 a.m.), Royal City (10:45 a.m.) Victoria (12:50 p.m.).
The Bantam Rams are scheduled to face Abbotsford (1:30 p.m.), Meeadow Ridge (2:50 p.m.) and North Surrey (4:10p.m.).
The pre-season tournament will help prepare teams for play in the Vancouver Mainland Football League.
