SDSS cross-country runners off to Prince George for provincials

South Delta secondary cross-country runners MacKenzie Connors and Annika Bosch are headed north this weekend for provincials after outstanding performances at the Fraser Valley Championships in Aldergrove.

Connors ran the race of his life, placing 13th in a field of 194 runners in the senior boys division. Bosch, who is only in Grade 8, ran well beyond her years, finishing 34th out of 177 entries in the senior girls division.

Both will be representing South Delta at the provincial championships, slated for Saturday in Prince George.

Other results at the Fraser Valley meet included Maia Christian, Katie Maciel, Jenny Stolarchuk and Rosie James, joining Bosch to help South Delta finish 10th overall in the senior girls team standings.

Jordan Baum was 66th in the senior boys race, while teammate Yichuro Tsukasa was 94th. Another name to was out for in future years was Grade 8 Daniel Degoutiere finishing 104th against older competition.

SDSS was also well-represented by Reid Kelly, Ryley Esler, Wade King and Perrin Swanson.

Performing well in the Grade 8 category were Jonathon Chu, Alex Kim and Nathan Manley.
