Under sunny winter skies, Tsawwassen Soccer Club's U11 Blues squad continued its fine seasonal play with a hard fought 21 victory over the Richmond Selects.

The team went into Sunday's match with less than high expectations given it was missing four starters due to a myriad of factors ranging from pneumonia, an appendectomy or being out of town.

The Blues started off strong but were down 1-0 at the half due to an unlucky bounce. With no spares for substitutions, the girls were determined not to give up and battled back in the second half, scoring early off of a free kick and later via a corner kick. These goals, in combination with strong team defence and solid passing, were enough for the exhausted squad to squeeze out the win.

The result takes the team to a perfect 3-0 in the South District Girls Soccer Association's 'Group "A" after being moved up from Group "B" last month following an equally impressive 4-1-1 record with 17 goals for and only four against.

Early success has not gone to the girls heads however as they are determined to continue to improve and work hard, taking nothing for granted but also making sure they are having fun.

The Tsawwassen roster includes Madisen Sambrook, Reiko Bohmert, Sadie Baird, Emily Birarda, Mia Cender, Chelsea Cockett, Christina Coburn, Charity Field, Keanna Foster, Emma Kaltenegger, Eleanor Morrison, Brianne Vik, and Amy Williams.

The coaching staff consists of Michelle Kaltenegger, Moira Sambrook, Terry Baird, and Hans Kalteneggar.
