Storm win gold at Surrey tourney

South Delta Storm Pee Wee Female C1 hockey team came through with a gold medal win over the Surrey Falcons in the Surrey SuperHeart Tournament.

South Delta Storm Pee Wee Female C1 hockey team came through with a gold medal win over the Surrey Falcons in the Surrey SuperHeart Tournament.

The Storm went undefeated over the weekend with wins over Langley, 100 Mile, Tri Cities and a tie against Surrey in round-robin play - setting the stage for a great final game against the host team.

South Delta jumped out to a 2-0 lead and that was all the girls needed behind the stellar goaltending of Grace Kozak to take the title.

Every member of the Storm contributed to the victory with their hard work ethic and great attitude.

The team also includes: Amrita Bains, Anna Everett, Charlotte Lee, Denae Turko, Elise Ridley, Grace Kozak, Hannah Benjamin, Jade Yarhi, Justine Geboers, Kiki Linders, Macy Young, Madeline Davies, Meaghan Dillon, Natalee Okamura and Olivia Wickett.

The coaches are Jake Geboers, Rob Everett, Wayne Okamura, and Brent Lee. The team is managed by Virginia Davies.
