The Jr. B Tier 1 Islanders moved to 10-6 on the season thanks to a 13-8 win over the Langley Thunder Tuesday night at the Langley Events Centre.
Delta’s win snapped the Thunder’s three-game winning streak.
The Islanders were ahead 5-1 following 20 minutes and coasted to the victory.
Vaughn Pinchin (4-1) and Elijah Gill (4-2) both had four-goal games for Delta while Jett Burns stopped 28 of the 36 Langley shots.
The Islanders host the Maple Ridge Burrards on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Ladner Leisure Centre.
The game is one of three for the Islanders organization as they host a day-long lacrosse event for National Indigenous Peoples Day. All proceeds from the day will go to support I-Sparc (Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council).
I-Sparc helps remove barriers allowing Indigenous athletes the ability to play sports.
The JB2 Islanders will host North Shore at 2 p.m., while the Junior ‘A’ Islanders will host New West at 8 p.m.
