Bishop says she wants to make Delta even better

Delta mayoralty candidate Sylvia Bishop’s campaign made a stop at the Beach Grove Golf Club Tuesday.

She spoke to a members of the United Culture of China Society, promising to establish a new framework for diversity in Delta.

Bishop also went over several of the big issues facing Delta with traffic top of mind for many.

She noted she’s committed to working with all levels of government to improve traffic and transportation.

The city councillor also said that as mayor she intends to make sure Delta has housing choices. Another issue on people’s minds is the condition of the parks, recreation and sports fields, she added. Some of the other things she talked about included wanting to see more public art spaces, whether on civic properties, parks or larger developments.

Bishop is running under a Team Delta banner with city councillor Robert Campbell and newcomers Joan Hansen, Kim Kendall and Simran Walia.
