The City of Delta has been forced to cancel or postpone all its planned community events until at least the end of August due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Councillors received a report from director of parks, recreation and culture Ken Kuntz at its April 27th virtual council meeting outlining the status of city and community events.
“Small scale events during the next few months, such as concerts in the park or movie nights may be possible to re-schedule with shorter time frames, subject to the guidance provided by the Provincial Health Services Authority and availability of the provider,” said Kuntz in the report. “Most large events are not possible to re-schedule due to the longer planning and procurement needs, therefore, they have been cancelled.”
