Delta police are once again raising the dangers of drinking and driving following an incident Monday night in the Massey Tunnel.

According to a post on the DPD Facebook page, just after 11 p.m. Monday, a complaint was phoned in about a car going northbound in the southbound lane of the Massey Tunnel. The driver then made a u-turn to go southbound on Highway 99.

“DPD found the driver pulled over on the shoulder of the road on 17A, with their car running and the lights on,” said Delta police. “Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver rolled down the window and handed over the keys to the vehicle. The driver was asked to blow, and failed two times. The car was impounded and the driver was served a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition. Thankfully no one was hurt.
