Ladner Harbour could once again see a buzz of activity with fresh fish sales right off the boat.
This summer local fishermen are expecting a higher than normal sockeye salmon return, according to City of Delta staff, who are recommending the sale of fresh fish from fishing vessels at the Elliott Street wharf.
Unless directed by Delta council otherwise, the sales will be permitted from Aug. 9 to Sept. 30 seven days a week. Sales will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vessel operators can secure a permit from the harbour master to dock at the wharf on a first-come, first-served basis
The last time fish sales took place at the wharf was 2014.
According to staff, the general feedback from the public was good with the city promoting the sales through social media.
