Update:

The Christmas cards have been pouring in for Owen Hill Davie.

The Ladner youngster’s family recently asked the public to send cards to Owen, who’s dealing with a host of medical issues.

Over 680 cards have arrived as of Monday, says Owen’s mom Stephanie Hill Davie.

The response has been “amazing,” she says, noting a family drove out from Deroche to hand deliver a card over the weekend.

A Ladner family is looking to create a little Christmas magic this year.

Their hope is that people would consider writing a Christmas card to Owen Hill Davie, a youngster with a host of medical issues.

He isn’t able to lift much weight but he can hold a card and loves paper, said Owen’s mom Stephanie Hill Davie in an email to the Optimist.

“He received a card about a week ago for Christmas and as soon as I showed it to him, his eyes lit up,” she said.

Owen has been unwell for nine weeks and only returned to school a few days ago “so to see him smile, play and truly love an item that is just perfect for him is amazing for us as parents to witness,” Hill Davie said.

This is the second year the family has put the call out for Christmas cards for Owen.

In 2015, he received over 8,000 cards.

Christmas cards can be sent to: Owen Hill Davie, 4295-96th St., Delta, B.C., V4K 3N3.

There is a Facebook page, Hope for Owen, with more on the little boy’s journey.
