A 15-year-old North Delta teen is facing a variety of charges in connection to a robbery and stabbing at Sungod Recreation Centre last Tuesday. The suspect is due in court Tuesday afternoon.

A 15-year-old North Delta teen will appear in Surrey provincial court later Tuesday facing a variety of charges in connection to a stabbing and robbery last week outside Sungod Recreation Centre.

Delta police arrested the suspect on Saturday. He was remanded in custody over the weekend. Police have recommended charges including aggravated assault, robbery, disguise with intent and assault with a weapon.

On Tuesday night, Nov. 7, officers attended the recreation centre shortly after 8:30 p.m. after a report of an injured male.

According to police an 18-year-old male was approached by two males wearing balaclavas. The two males robbed the victim stabbing him in the process. The victim made his way to the recreation centre where staff acted quickly rendering first aid and calling 911. The victim was transported to hospital for medical treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

The two suspects fled the area on foot.
