Off-duty DPD officer helps nab thieves

An alert off-duty Delta police officer helped nab three suspected thieves this week.

Delta police recently gave a heads up to the community about a spate of thefts from vehicles and for the community to be active in getting information to their officers.

“Well, earlier this week an off-duty officer reached out to her on-duty colleagues, to state she’d observed three people breaking into vehicles in the early morning hours in South Delta,” said DPD in a post on their Facebook page. “Officers responded and the three attempted to flee – two running away, and one via bike. They didn't get far. All three were arrested, and officers located weapons and tools. Police will be forwarding charges for consideration.”
