Remembrance Day parade and ceremony to be held in Ladner

There will be a parade and ceremony in Ladner on Remembrance Day to honour those who have served our country. The parade is scheduled to depart the Ladner Legion, located at 4896 Delta St., at 10:30 a.m.

There will be a parade and ceremony in Ladner on Remembrance Day to honour those who have served our country.

The parade is scheduled to depart the Ladner Legion, located at 4896 Delta St., at 10:30 a.m. and is set to be in position at the cenotaph at Memorial Park by 10:45 a.m.

The parade marching list includes a colour party from the Ladner Legion, the Delta Police Pipe Band, veterans, Delta police/RCMP, military police, Delta fire, B.C. ambulance, Canadian Coast Guard, cadets and other organizations.

The singing of O Canada, the Last Post, a two-minute silence and wreath laying by various local groups will be part of the ceremony at the cenotaph.

Ian Estabrooks from the Ladner Legion will narrate the service and Rev. Graham Witcher will serve as padre. The service will also include the Delta Choral Society, piper Colin Barrett and bugler Marilynn Turner.

• There will also be a Remembrance Day ceremony at North Delta Social Heart Plaza, 11415-84 Ave., at 10:40 a.m. with a reception to follow at the North Delta Rec Centre.
