Here’s a round-up of some of the events and activities you might want to check out this weekend in South Delta.

 

Saturday

It’s all about seniors this Saturday in Tsawwassen. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall and Bria Communities partner for a senior-focused celebration which will include live entertainment, an appetizer contest, and displays by vendors and services.

The annual Jog for a Jug happens Saturday in Point Roberts. The fun run clocks in at 11.2 kilometres with the start and finish at Kiniski’s Reef Tavern. There will be a barbecue with music and prizes as well. Walkers start at 10:30 a.m. with runners getting going at 11 a.m.

The Earthwise Garden is kicking off its Garden Days Celebration Saturday. The celebration will highlight Canada’s garden culture, history and innovations and more. The garden is located at 6400-3rd Ave. in Boundary Bay.

The Ladner Lawn Bowling Club is holding an open house on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Come and try out the game of lawn bowling. Players can enjoy playing year round. The club is located at 5128-47th Ave.

 

Sunday

Dads will be honoured on Father’s Day at a special Sunday in the Park pancake breakfast jointly hosted by the volunteers of Boundary Bay Park Association and Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club. Everyone is invited to come out and honour Dad or any other paternal person who plays an important role in their life. The pancake breakfast is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon in the picnic area at Centennial Beach.
