To all those drivers east of 56th Street attempting to make a right turn onto 12th Avenue and are stopped at a stop sign looking left awaiting an opening before proceeding, please look to your right once more before stepping on the gas.

While you are looking left, a pedestrian may have stepped in front of your auto believing you are a good driver and will look to your right before proceeding.

To the senior female driver who brushed my backside with her car on Oct. 26 at Morris Crescent around 12:15 p.m., shame on you for almost ruining my day and maybe the rest of my life.

The Driver’s Handbook states: “Watch out for pedestrians on cross streets whenever you make a turn.” A stop sign means: “Stop completely -- continue when safe.” It does not mean stop, look left, then proceed because a pedestrian may have stepped in front of your car while you were busy looking left.
