Re: Unplug on Family Literacy Day, Jan. 16
I want to commend the Delta Community Literacy Committee for encouraging us to mark Family Literacy Day by unplugging for an hour to play and read together.
I think this is especially important for computerdependent writers who sabotage our productivity by regularly getting lost online, which is why I have challenged junior authors around the world to practice the spirit of #ScreensOffDelta this week.
I have asked my followers to unplug for 30 minutes per day for seven consecutive days and to use those bonus "offline" hours to write. I don't know whether the kids will take up the call, but I do know I will certainly lead by example.
