Barrier is needed to protect drivers from river below after they exit the tunnel

Editor: Every time I exit the George Massey Tunnel in the right lane to enter Ladner I wonder if I'm going to make it home. Is it just me that notices the danger? There is absolutely no protection for vehicles for the next couple hundred yards.

Every time I exit the George Massey Tunnel in the right lane to enter Ladner I wonder if I'm going to make it home.

Is it just me that notices the danger? There is absolutely no protection for vehicles for the next couple hundred yards.

If the vehicle on your left taps you for any reason, you are in the cold water of the Fraser River trapped inside your sinking vehicle.

Those few brambles at the bottom of the grassy knoll will not stop you from plunging.

Do we have to wait until somebody drowns before the decision to place a cement barrier is approved? It looks like it is less than a one-day job.

I hope the powers that be will take notice and act before it's too late.
