Re: Berner's appeal unsuccessful, March 22

I don't usually write these things but I can't help myself with this one. I am floored that Carol Berner wasted more of the court's time with an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada but I think I am even more flabbergasted as to the reason for her appeal.

First of all, arguing that a 30-month sentence is "excessive" for killing a human being is not even worth discussing. The rest just gets more insane. To argue the content of the victim impact statements were "inappropriate" just leaves me breathless.

What, Carol, was Alexa's Christmas concert video just too darling? Was the picture of Alexa just too sweet? Have any light bulbs gone off in your head yet?

Ahhh, I see, she actually was a precious human being who was loved, beautiful and innocent. She actually did have a rich life, full of friends and family, ahead of her.

Can you just step up to the plate, take ownership of what you have done and try to comprehend the permanent damage you have created. How can you not take responsibility for your actions?

You need to stop showing up in our courts, in our papers and on our television stations.
