I have been an avid runner for several years and wanted to thank all the organizers and volunteers for last Sunday's Jog for the Bog.

The event was very well organized with lots of water stations, volunteers to help with trail routes, first aid stations, chip timing and a pancake breakfast (special thanks to Delta and Scottsdale Lions). Many sponsors offered support with donated time, displays and products.

The course was fairly flat and well laid out with beautiful scenery throughout Burns Bog. The people were also very friendly and I will be adding this annual family friendly run to my must do list.

I really enjoyed the scenery and tranquility during the run and will be bringing the family and the dog back to explore more of the nature trails.

However, despite the hard work by the Burns Bog Conservation Society to preserve the bog for future generations, it needs your help in stopping further development that is threatening this sensitive ecosystem. I would encourage you to find out more at www.burnsbog. org and sign the petition to help preserve this natural peatland.
