Editor: We wish to thank everyone who took part in making the third annual Bra Burning Party another great success. You collected 200 bras and over $700 for the Cancer de Mama Clinic in La Penita, Mexico The clinic is a work of love, started by a Canadian Breast Cancer survivor in 1996. Working out of her home, she provided bras and prostheses to the women of Nayarit.
The clinic was moved to the La Penita RV Park in 2009 where it has served a greater number of women. In 2013, 567 women with breast cancer were provided with services.
In particular, we thank the generosity of our neighbours in the South Point complex, especially the ones from Jibset Bay, who supplied power, chairs and tables as well as delicious food. See you all again next year.
