Christmas Spirit

You know that warm and fuzzy feeling that you get when you've done something good for someone? Say you cleaned the dishes for your parents without them asking you to, or maybe made a relative a gift.

You know that warm and fuzzy feeling that you get when you've done something good for someone? Say you cleaned the dishes for your parents without them asking you to, or maybe made a relative a gift. Don't you just love it? I know I do! But the time when you'll feel it the most is almost always at Christmastime. I remember a couple years ago, I bought my brother a Skylander for Christmas. Later, I asked him which Skylanders he liked the most, and he said the one that I had got him! It made me want to give it to him right then and there! But Christmas would be nothing without Christmas spirit. It's not about the gifts, or the feasts. It's about family. Take it from me, I would know. I learned that the hard way. Last Christmas my Dad had to have heart surgery, and we had to spend Christmas in Vancouver General Hospital. But it only goes to show that as long as you're with family, or even people you aren't related to, if there is love, there is Christmas. But some people don't have anyone to spend Christmas with. You've probably heard the song 'Have a Holly Jolly Christmas' right? Well if you listen closely, you'll notice that there is a line in the song that says, "Say hello to friends you know and everyone you meet." This is actually good advice. I don't mean go up to random stranger and say, "hi," but a little kindness goes a long way. Did you know, that a smile is the international sign for happiness? Even if someone speaks a different language, they will always recognize a smile and what it means. In my family, we try to keep the spirit of Christmas in our hearts all year long. Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!
