Cyclists should take advantage of new lanes

We have a beautiful new road along Ladner Trunk from Highway 17A to past 64th Street, complete with bike lanes. My friend and I now enjoy walking our dogs along the quieter road.

Yesterday we heard a noise and coming up behind us was a cyclist on the sidewalk. We told him about the new bike lane, he made a comment and continued along the sidewalk.

Today, going the opposite way, we heard a noise behind us and there was a cyclist one wheel length from us. We said there was a bike lane and this was a sidewalk and he made some comments and continued along on the sidewalk. The cyclist symbol was very close to us.

What is with these - OK, I'll say it - middle aged men that they have to ride their bikes on the sidewalk? My tax dollars have paid for these bike lanes. I walk on a sidewalk, you cycle on a bike lane.
