Do not look Southlands gift horse in the mouth

I cannot believe the misrepresentation of the Southlands opponents. Sean Hodgins doesn't want to build greenhouses on his property but might well be forced to in order to make the land viable.

Sean Hodgins doesn't want to build greenhouses on his property but might well be forced to in order to make the land viable.

The crops that are being grown now are very limited due to the poor drainage.

He was willing to provide adequate drainage in the original plans and improve the soil to the highest standards over a three-year period before offering the land in trust to farmers that want to grow organically.

If Delta council does not know what to do with the gift of this land, members should revisit (if indeed they ever read) the original publication for the details that were laid out for everyone to study.

If even this diminished plan now being offered is refused, another opportunity for people such as myself to stay in the community will be squandered, and many like me will be leaving.

Why continue to look a gift horse in the mouth and refuse it?

Think beyond your own selfish desires and try to see what a benefit this would be for all of us.
