Exhibition is worth a visit

I have just returned from viewing Four Women, Four Stories at the Tsawwassen Longhouse Gallery, and would like to urge all who can to see this outstanding exhibit before it closes on Sunday.

The artists are Birgit Coath, Gabrielle Greig, Linda Bell and Nancy Dean, all members of the South Delta Artists Guild. Their work is superb, combining fine technique, a spirit of adventure, keen observation and exciting exploration of colour.

The Tsawwassen Longhouse Gallery is part of the old Kiwanis Longhouse, adjacent to South Delta Recreation Centre.

The Longhouse is rented by the South Delta Artists Guild, which is responsible for upkeep of the interior and has turned the building into what one visitor called "a treasure for this community."

New professional gallery lighting enables visitors to view paintings as well as at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and fresh paint sparkles everywhere, thanks to the members of this non-profit society.

This show runs daily, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Sunday, and since I am a member of the guild, I, too, share pride in this show and our "community treasure."
