Existing radio towers are far removed from homes

Editor: Re: MP taking action on radio towers file, letter to the editor, April 4 Firstly, I was happy to hear the efforts MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay is currently putting forth bringing this serious issue to the attention of her colleagues in the Conservative government. I trust her efforts will not stop with just "informing" her colleagues but continuing to engage on behalf of her constituents, not stopping until this tower proposal has been halted permanently.

Regardless of jurisdiction or whose department this falls under, the Point Roberts location right on the border is the wrong place for these towers. That is obvious. Do not stop until this wrong is righted.

Secondly, I was very disappointed Findlay's letter contained reference to 12 tower locations in Delta/Richmond/Washington with the comment that her office has never received complaints about electronic interference.

Last December I wrote to Findlay and included the call signs of the radio stations plus a map of the rough locations of these towers.

I stated, "You will see that all of these radio stations are currently located in rural areas NOT immediately adjacent to highly built-up residential areas

such as the suburb of Tsawwassen. Even AM 690 is located further away in the tidal flats." I also stated, "Your radio station reference therefore supports the position that radio towers are meant for rural installations and NOT suburban installations."

Unless I stand corrected, for Findlay to continue to imply these locations are similar to the proposal in Point Roberts and the proximity to the highly built-up suburb of Tsawwassen, and to promote that they are not causing any ill effects, appears to be misleading and is quite troubling. This inaccuracy needs to be corrected immediately.
