During the holiday season our two children, ages eight and 11, made and delivered 200 flyers in our Boundary Bay neighbourhood asking for donations of warm blankets, coats, socks and toiletries for people living on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.

We collected over 500 items and handed them out on a Sunday morning just before Christmas. It was our second year doing this and we don't meet many of the people who donate items as bags mostly just appear on our doorstep.

We wanted to pass on our thanks to our generous neighbours that helped us make this time of year a little more comfortable for so many. Your contributions are so appreciated by the people we meet and we couldn't do it without you.

Giving back is something we work very hard to instill in our children and it's so wonderful to live in a community that has such a generous spirit.
