For several years, McKee Seniors' Recreation Centre in Ladner has provided the venue for a free flu shot clinic for seniors sponsored by Fraser Health. This year Fraser Health has advised us that it will not be providing this service.
In 2013 over 400 seniors of South Delta attended this one-day clinic.
This year those seniors will be required to make appointments at doctors' offices or pharmacies, resulting in long lineups and additional costs to seniors, some of whom cannot afford this additional expense. This could result in health complications for the most vulnerable members of our society. McKee House Seniors society has protested this disservice to Fraser Health and provincial politicians.
