I write to you as a lifelong resident of Tsawwassen. Our Delf family, all three generations, believes the Southlands development proposal is a positive move for Delta and its residents.

Market Square will honour the rich agricultural history of Delta. An incredible 425 acres generously donated to the public will offer an increased capacity to produce healthy food close to home for our residents. This community farm, the largest in North America, will ensure everyone has access to healthy, culturally diverse and affordable foods.

With 80 per cent of the land generously being donated to the Corporation of Delta, a brilliant balance between development, usable trails and protected areas for flora and fauna results. This is unique and special and we believe this must be embraced and celebrated.

The housing proposal will provide a sustainable option for retirees to move out of their large family homes, making room for young families to move in to Tsawwassen. It will also provide an option for young families entering the housing market.

Young families are something towns need to be healthy and balanced. Young families will keep our town vital and provide students for our wonderful schools.

I am proud to live in a town where this incredible opportunity is being offered. This unique opportunity will provide additional allure for Tsawwassen and encourage our residents to make healthy and sustainable food and lifestyle choices.

It is a forward thinking, self-sustaining, community-minded plan and it is exactly what Tsawwassen needs to see revitalization. I would like to see the plan approved and the development completed.
