Will Delta's mayor and council give $1,000 to Century Group for every tandem truck required to drive through our town?

Those 141,000 loaded tandem trucks multiplied by $1,000 works out to $141 million, which is an estimate of the value of the Southlands should mayor and council rezone the property.

Every truck you see rolling by represents a $1,000 gift to Century from our community leaders. Take away the profit created by the rezoning and the traffic problems will ease.

High-income earners pay close to 50 per cent in tax prior to paying their property tax. Pensioners may pay 100 per cent or more of their income, if it comes from their savings or is deferred, to pay their property tax.

It's a high price to pay to live in this community, but worth it if our community standards are maintained.

Our Official Community Plan is our plan for the future. I do not support change to our OCP and the Southlands rezoning application.
