Thanks to Lorne Hepworth, president of CropLife Canada, for that nice infomercial on the safety of GMO crops.

Perhaps next time he might want to let people know the results of the study released in September by the University of Caen, which found that rats fed a lifetime of GMO corn had massive tumors and 50 per cent of the males/70 per cent of females suffered premature death.

He might also want to mention that in September Russia banned all GMO corn.

The question I would like to ask is why are the big food manufacturers fighting so hard against the labeling of GMO foods in California? I, as a consumer, would love to be able to read the label on any food item to see if it is made out of GMO foods.

On another note, wouldn't it be nice if we all started looking at the causes of cancer? Seems to me the focus is always on the cure.

Despite all the fundraising, etc., cancer rates continue to go through the roof.

Could it be the food we are eating?
