Delta Optimist polled 320 Optimist readers and asked the question: Do you feel you are prepared in an emergency situation such as a flood or other natural disaster?

The poll ran from Nov. 15, 2023 to Nov. 29, 2023. Of the 320 votes, we can determine that 125 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

YES 34.40 % local, 30.94 % total    
NO 65.60 % local, 69.06 % total

Results are based on an online study of adult Optimist readers located throughout Delta. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 5.44%, 19 times out of 20.

The Optimist uses a variety of techniques to capture data, detect and prevent fraudulent votes, detect and prevent robots, and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
