So what are the results on our latest poll - this one was on cell phone bans in schools.

Delta Optimist polled 509 readers and asked the question: Should cell phones be banned in schools?

The poll ran from Jan. 31 to Feb. 7. Here are the results:

No, students need to learn to regulate their own cell phone use as modern citizens. 3.87% local, 7.27% total    
No, but schools should make sure students aren't using cell phones in classroom time. 35.36% local, 26.92% total    
Yes, cell phones are a huge distraction from both classroom learning and other social activities at school. 60.77% local, 65.82% total

Results are based on an online study of adult Optimist readers. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 4.3%, 19 times out of 20.
