The results of our latest online opinion poll are in.

Delta Optimist polled 441 Optimist readers and asked the question: Should online voting be allowed in municipal elections?

The poll ran from Feb. 21 to March 6. The full results are as follows:

Yes, it will modernize the process and increase voter turnout. 45.39% local, 47.17% total    
No, the risk of voter fraud is too high. 54.61% local, 52.83% total

Results are based on an online study of adult Optimist readers. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 4.62%, 19 times out of 20.

The Optimist uses a variety of techniques to capture data, detect and prevent fraudulent votes, detect and prevent robots, and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
