Every time MLA Vicki Huntington speaks she reaffirms my decision to vote for her, even though my political leanings are to the left of hers.

Her reaction to Minister Rich Coleman's bullying of Surrey council over its decision to disallow a proposed casino was perfect. She is quoted in The Province as saying, "Quality of life and community input mean nothing to [the Liberal party]. The public is ignored far too often."

I could not agree more. The Liberal party seems to have forgotten that government represents citizens, not corporations. Now the government is publicly musing about a casino on First Nations land, knowing full well it would bypass the approval process of Delta's elected representatives.

I completely understand that companies of all sizes are vital to our way of life; however I urge all citizens to make sure you vote in the upcoming provincial election for politicians who know they are supposed to represent their citizens first and foremost.
