If not coal dust, then what is it?

Ross Ens can rest assured that his imagination is not acting up: this mysterious pollution is a real problem.

The port, the municipality and Metro Vancouver all say this black soot isn't coal dust: regardless, we all know that something very real is out there and it is blanketing South Delta.

Whether it's coal dust, truck/train diesel particulate, ship bunker fuel emissions, jet fuel or something else, Metro Vancouver and the port are responsible and they should find out what it is and stop it.

Telling us what it is not fails to answer the fundamental questions: What is making our property filthy and is it dangerous to our health?
