Ladner doesn't want North Delta's congestion

Re: MK Delta proposal divides candidates, Oct. 24

I just read that Delta council candidate Heather King is looking to do a land swap with a developer should she be elected on Nov. 15. King proposes the developer, who owns land in North Delta, swap that land for Paterson Park, owned by the Corporation of Delta and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

This developer is looking to build condos, townhouses as well as retail.

Can you imagine our beloved and heritage rich Paterson Park completely developed? The entrance to Ladner would then take on the unfortunate look of Steveston Highway at No. 5 Road in Richmond where Fantasy Gardens used to be.

Not to mention the eyesore, this would create traffic nightmares to compound what we already face trying to get out of Ladner to go into Richmond during rush hour.

The TFN development and mall will add traffic and take away business from both Tsawwassen and Ladner Village. This development idea would compound the already dire future for the local businesses and traffic of South Delta.
