Let merchants decide what they'll sell

I must have missed the election that appointed John Stevens and Bob Ages the new judge and jury on what a merchant can sell in his place of business in Ladner as long as it legal to do so.

I think they should be reminded that this a democratic country and we all have the right to make up our own mind as to what we will spend our money on.

Yes, Stevens, being a commercial fisherman you have every right to see farm fish as a threat to you and your family, and I respect that, but we have the right to buy farm fish even if you and Ages don't like it being sold in Ladner.

I can also understand the disappointment in the community as we have a rich heritage of fishing, but it still does not give you the right to tell anyone what they can sell or buy.

That, gentlemen, is the bottom line here.
