Mr. LaPointe is bang on. The affordability ship has sailed.
With the stress test, land costs that the development community are paying and their need for profit, the price of housing will continue to outpace the income of buyers.
For example, $1,000 per sq. ft. used to be a downtown Vancouver price for a condo. Now, new condos in North Delta are at that price point.
