I moved to Ladner a year ago and I absolutely love living here. It is a sweet small town that offers a variety of great outdoor activities, with walks, cycling, boating and the farmers market is top notch.
However I feel Ladner is culturally underwhelming.
While I do appreciate all the community events, such as the May Day parade, the concert band festival and the summer movies shown in Memorial Park, it would be great to see perhaps a writer’s festival and a small scale music festival.
It was good to see a stage in the centre of the village to present Warren Dean Flandez in concert and nice to see that it was well-attended.
I hope that we see more of these types of events. All styles of music can be featured perhaps once a month. Food for thought for our city council going forward.
