Re: Delta buys Ladner Village commercial properties

This is just another head scratcher.

So, the city of Delta is going to get rid of the six or seven viable businesses so they can sometime in the future develop the property at the corner of Delta and Chisholm streets.

These are some of the best shops in Ladner. They have a thriving business, some of them for many years, such as Heritage House Interiors.

How long will that land sit empty while the city comes up with a viable plan? Is this the same city that gave us the somewhat disappointing “Green Space” in front of Johnny’s Corner. All pavement, no green. Don’t get me started on the uninviting wood block furniture.

No businesses would have to relocate. In fact, tearing down those buildings and brambles would be a huge improvement even if it sat empty for a few years.

What a shame. I feel for these business owners.
