Letters: I follow the rules and so should they

I would love to be on a beach somewhere. Wouldn't we all, but I stayed home. It’s just the right thing to do.

I am tired of hearing these grovelling apologies from those who knowingly travelled abroad. Some said that they made a mistake. What, were they going to the grocery store, took a wrong turn and ended up on a plane? They are only sorry that they were found out.  I, like a vast amount of other people, stayed home for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We didn't meet with family or friends. I don't expect a halo, medal or thank you, as it was simply the right thing to do. I don't want to be in the group of selfish and entitled people who consider themselves to be more important than the rest of us. The numbers are edging up again. Do any of the rule breakers feel partly responsible? I doubt it.
