Re: Cost overruns of the Ladner Village public plaza (Optimist, March 21)
I am one of man residents not happy with the blue sign, however, what really concerns me is the explosion of costs for the plaza.
The cost of the entire plaza project ballooned from its original estimated $200,000 budget to over $650,000!
Our city council has the responsibility of budgeting future costs and keeping them in line so that the appropriate taxes do not get out of line. This appears to be a prime example of under estimating followed by substantial cost overruns on far too many government projects.
