The Refugee Action Group of Delta (RAGDy), with Benediction Lutheran Church in Tsawwassen, would like to thank the Delta Optimist and the public for their support during our fundraising campaign to sponsor a Syrian refugee family who has been in limbo in Jordan for 11 years.
The sponsored family will join family who settled in Delta seven years ago, through Delta Safe Haven. The article attracted the attention of Tsawwassen United Church, who has now partnered with Benediction Lutheran, assisting with much-needed financial support to reach the minimum amount required by the Canadian Government to sponsor a family.
We are happy to report the application is currently being processed by Canada.
