Letters: Time to speak up about Boundary Bay Park

What are we getting for our tax dollars?
boundary bay regional park

Editor:

Most of Tsawwassen’s Boundary Bay Regional Park is undisturbed wildlife habitat, inaccessible for humans, consisting as it does, of marshland, dense vegetation and briar patches. That is not enough for Metro Vancouver’s Parks Department.

Signs have been sprouting in currently accessible areas, reading: “Keep Out. No dogs or humans. Wildlife Habitat.” The long-term goal is obviously to exclude human access from almost the whole park, begging the question: What are we getting for our tax dollars?

Anyone concerned about this issue should contact Mr. Neal Carley, General Manager, Parks and Environment, Metro Vancouver, 604-432-6200, [email protected]. Metro Vancouver may provide a map, showing planned exclusion areas, on request.
