Letters: We will miss you Dr. Kason

All the best to you and your family Dr. Kason. We will miss you!
David Kason
Dr. David Kason retired from his practice in Ladner at the end of December following 42 years of serving the community.

Editor:

I would like to make a few comments on the article in this week's edition (Optimist, March 25) on Dr. David Kason.

It was very nice to read his feelings about the patients he has gotten to serve and know over the years in Ladner, however, I am not sure if he realizes how much he has meant to his patients.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we did not get a chance to say our good-byes and offer thanks to a very much loved and appreciated family doctor.

He has been our doctor for more than 44 years. He delivered our last two children, he has stood by our side while we dealt with family and health issues. He has been more than a doctor. He would counsel us when needed, encouraged us and laid it on the line when we needed to hear it. We were worried when we got that letter last year about his coming retirement. Where would we get another doctor, especially one that has been so dedicated over all these years?

Dr. Rodriques Nunez is proving to be a good replacement and it is comforting to know that he took great care in finding her.

There is so much more that I could say about this man, but I just wanted him to know that he was loved and appreciated and that we wish him all the best in the coming years.

I won't say retirement because it doesn't sound like he is slowing down anytime soon, but I am glad to hear that he is still going to be training others to be a great family doctor.

All the best to you and your family Dr. Kason. We will miss you!
