There has been some fresh pavement laid in Point Roberts recently.
I would like to invite our mayor and the superintendent of roads to take a drive there to experience and appreciate how smoothly asphalt paving can actually be done. Contrast this with the way it is done in Delta.
I would also invite them to ride their bikes along 53A Street between 12th and 16th avenues to feel the bone-jarring condition of that street or just stop midway and listen to the sound of vehicles thumping along through the couple dozen or more poorly repaired road cuts and potholes in just four blocks.
If a job is worth doing, is it not worth doing well?
